THIS CAMP IS FOR: LEVEL 2 Riders AND LEVEL 3 Riders – Current Enchanted Hollow Stables lesson students OR riders that have completed at least ONE full 4-day horse camp that are comfortable riding and challenging themselves. Not suited for first-time Enchanted Hollow riders or beginner students. MUST be able to independently and CONFIDENTLY ride at the walk and trot. This camp is suitable for both our Level 2 (walk/trot) and Level 3 (walk/trot/canter) riders. If someone is interested in expanding their riding knowledge and exploring barrel racing and western gaming, this is an AMAZING opportunity for them! If you register for this camp but have not ridden with us before your registration will be canceled and refunded unless you have spoken to Mary in advance to assess the riders previous experience and their suitability for joining this camp.
SPACE WILL BE EXTREMELY LIMITED in our 2024 camps to allow for a more personalized experience for all riders and our website will automatically show as “sold out” as soon as we hit our maximum, so don’t hesitate to reserve your spot! You MUST secure payment to reserve your spot.
This camp will be an amazing opportunity for our returning riders (it is NOT suitable for first time riders) this camp is dedicated to LEVEL 2 and LEVEL 3 riders. Riders that are focused on working on advanced skills including building confidence at the walk, trot, and canter; learning fundamental techniques for gaming patterns like barrel racing and pole weaving; and practicing those speed event patterns in a mock show where we will time the riders and give out actual RIBBONS for their placings!!
IMPORTANT/PLEASE NOTE: the change in our 2024 horse camp times!!! This year we will be offering two separate summer camp sessions most camp weeks. Our morning camps will be from 8:00AM-12:00PM and our afternoon camps will be from 1:00PM-5:00PM so PLEASE make sure you book the correct times and camp. The daily schedules will remain the same as camps in previous year with the same amount of horseback riding time each day (approximately 2.5 hours of actual hands on horse handling & horseback riding) the only change will be the elimination of our longer lunch time. The kiddos will start the day as usual doing barn chores and taking care of their assigned horses and then after a quick snack break they will begin to work with and ride their horses. The time changes to our camps will mean that kids will not be riding during the hottest part of the summer day this year and we will have smaller groups in each camp. The safety and health of our camp kiddos and our camp horses is very important to us and last summer the heat and humidity was a bit of a challenge at times for some of our horses and riders. Riding earlier in the day and then later in the afternoon will be better for all.
If you have a child that wants to sign up for both the morning and afternoon camps during their camp week they will spend the time between the morning and afternoon camps from 12:00PM-1:00PM having lunch and hanging out with our instructors and camp leaders.
Like all of our other camps, this camp is geared toward TONS of hands-on and one-on-one learning opportunities. Riders will start their day learning about the day-to-day chores that need to be done in order to care for the horses and other animals on the farm. Once they have finished caring for their horse and the other animals around the barn, they will spend the rest of the day grooming and riding their assigned horse. Each day will build upon what the kids learned from the day before.
It would be very hard to find another camp that offers more ride time than we do! Our horses are SAFE and experienced, and they are ready to take care of your kiddos in our indoor arena, outdoor arena, and on our wooded trails and fields!
Not only will each camper get the opportunity to ride, learn, and have fun, but they will also be able to enjoy spending fun days on a farm that is home to many horses, ponies, goats, chickens, ducks, donkeys and miniature pigs!
Our Horseback Riding School and Horse Camp Program was created and founded by our barn owner Mary Sansevere and her daughter Samantha who was Miss Buffalo Rodeo 2020 and Miss Rodeo Minnesota 2021. Our programs are now lead by Mary. She offers a lifetime of equestrian experience in many different disciplines and is so excited for another great season of horse camps at our family farm. We also have multiple experienced guest instructors that offer a wealth of experience in many disciplines in addition to a select group of camp leaders that also have years of riding experience under their belts. Most of our camp leaders were also horse camp kiddos themselves when they were younger and are wonderful role models and. mentors to the younger campers. Having a group of camp leaders ensures that we are able to provide one-on-one attention and assistance to every rider at our camps whenever they need it.
We require ASTM / SEI certified equestrian riding helmets to be worn in all riding lessons and horse camps. You can purchase a helmet at any Tractor Supply, Runnings, Fleet Farm, Dover Saddlery, and most country stores as well. We really like the brands Troxel and Ovation for their quality and affordability, but really whatever is most comfortable for your child and certified will work! They are much safer and designed for higher impact than any other type of helmet. We do have a couple on hand that kids can borrow but cannot guarantee that we will have enough or one that fits your child, and a properly fitted helmet is required for all riding activity. It’s best for your child’s safety that you get them their own so you can ensure that they have a properly fitted helmet!

WHAT TO BRING:
- Waiver printed and signed
- Sturdy boot or shoe with a heel to ride in
- Rain boots, just in case it gets cold and muddy!
- Old jeans or riding pants that you don’t mind getting dirty!
- Extra layers (sweatshirt, jacket, extra socks, gloves, etc.)
- Warm/waterproof jacket in case it is rainy and we are outside
- ASTM / SEI Certified Riding Helmet
- Lunch
- Water Bottle
- Snack
- A good attitude!
WHAT TO EXPECT:
EQUINE EDUCATION: We will take time to discuss equine feed and nutrition, how much hay a horse eats per day, and other types of food horses eat and need.
FARM CHORES: They will learn about about cleaning horse stalls top to bottom, re-filling water buckets, re-filling hay nets and preparing grain and supplements for each horse and pony for the next feeding.
GROOMING: They will learn to properly use each grooming tool and groom a horse from top to bottom.
RIDING EDUCATION:

- They will review what they have learned in previous lessons or camps
- Will be introduced to several WSCA gaming and barrel racing patterns
- Will be taught fundamentals of gaming patterns, good turns, proper technique
- Will work at a faster pace with a goal of cantering independently by the end of the week if they don’t already feel comfortable at the canter
