Beginning June 1st, we will be adding options for more specialized and discipline-specific riding lessons in order to better cater to our client’s interests and passions. Some of our rates will be changing as well. We will be keeping our regular rates for small group lessons and most of those same lesson times — we are mainly just adding a couple of options for our more advanced riders to have a chance to focus specifically on barrel racing or jumping. This schedule is for Summer 2019 and will likely change in the fall when the busy riding season dies down.

We offer the following options for lesson students that ride on a regular, weekly basis:

SMALL GROUP LESSONS ($40 per rider – one hour)

This is the same format we have followed for most of our lessons over the last couple of years. These lessons consist of 1-4 riders* of similar age and riding ability. If your child has been riding with us for a while, this is likely the format they are used to and the same price you have been paying. Discipline (English or Western) may vary on a lesson by lesson basis — which is a great way to make a good, well-rounded rider! In these lessons we will utilize the indoor arena, outdoor arena, trails, and fields as we always have. Most of our regular, long-time lesson students will experience no scheduling or rate change with this option. Group lesson times available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

PRIVATE LESSONS ($50 per rider – half hour)

Private, one-on-one lessons for individual instruction with Sam or Mary. Due to schedule constraints, this is a very limited offering but an option that we’re excited about. These lessons can focus on any discipline the student prefers. This is one half hour of instructed riding time but with Sam or Mary’s approval you may arrive early to get your horse, groom, and tack up to make efficient use of your time.

BARREL RACING/GAMING GROUP LESSONS ($50 – one and a half hours)

Group lessons of 1-6 riders* for an extended period of time to give everyone enough time for grooming, tacking up, warming up, instruction, and practice time for everyone with an occasional trail ride for cool down. This is an excellent option for any of our riders that have a strong interest in barrel racing and western gaming. Riders that participate in these group lessons may have the potential of eventually participating in a local gaming or barrel racing show. Openings on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:00pm.

ENGLISH RIDING/BEGINNER LEVEL JUMPING GROUP LESSONS ($50 – one and a half hours)

Group lessons of 1-6 riders* for an extended period of time to give everyone enough time for grooming, tacking up, warming up, instruction, and practice time for everyone with an occasional trail ride for cool down. This is an excellent option for any of our riders that have a strong interest in jumping or English riding in general. Openings on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:00pm.

*Lesson group sizes are subject to change at any time at the discretion of EHS.

As always, Sam and Mary are also available for scheduling outside of their regular Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday schedule, but that will be on an individual and week by week basis.

Lessons can be paid for with cash, check, or PayPal.

We provide lesson horses and equipment but are happy to discuss the option of you hauling in your own horse to take lessons on — in groups or in private lessons.

We accept riders of any age over 3 for private lessons and 5 for group lessons. If you have a child under the age of 7 that has never ridden or been around horses before, or is nervous to ride, we recommend starting with a couple of private lessons or one of our Little Kid Horse Camps, which can be found on our Horse Camps page.
